Battlefields of the American Revolution Forever Stamps
To mark the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States, the U.S. Postal Service honors key Revolutionary War battlefields with a pane of 15 Forever stamps.
Each row of three stamps highlights a historic battle through modern photography and vivid watercolor artwork. The featured battles include:
- Lexington and Concord : Where the first shots of the Revolution were fired in April 1775.
- Bunker Hill : The dramatic June 1775 clash on Breed's Hill in Boston.
- Trenton : Washington's surprise attack after crossing the Delaware in December 1776.
- Saratoga : A turning point in 1777 that secured a key American victory.
- Yorktown : The 1781 siege that led to British surrender and American independence.
These battle sites, many now preserved as parks, invite reflection on the sacrifices made for freedom. As we celebrate our nation's founding, they remain lasting symbols of courage and the enduring promise of liberty.
Art director Derry Noyes led the design, with illustrations by Greg Harlin and photos by various contributors. The stamps are issued as Forever stamps, always equal in value to the First-Class Mail one-ounce rate.
